Process and assembly to apply a false twist to synthetic thread, by heating thread whilst in a twisted condition

In a process to apply a false twist to a synthetic multifilament thread, the thread is heated while in a twisted condition. A supplementary twist is then applied to the thread which is then cooled and wound onto a bobbin. Prior to cooling the thread, the supplementary twist direction is the same as, or contrary to, that of the false twist. The supplementary twist is applied by fluid action. An Independent claim is also for a commensurate assembly.
