Method for operating a magnetic resonance instrument in which an alternating gradient field system is operated with a coarse time-base, the high frequency resolving system is operated with a fine time-base and the temporal behavior of a value of the gradient system is set based on the fine time-base and sampling based on the coarse time-base. The invention also relates to a corresponding NMR instrument with a gradient system, high frequency resolving system and a sampling unit for conversion of a time behavior of a value based on the fine time-base to one based on the coarse time-base.
