The clamping chuck has several centring pins (9) set on a housing (1) and designed to engage with centring bores (15) in the workpiece (11). Several grippers spread out round the circumference are to fit on the peripheral collar and each comprise a pair of tension bolts (7) which are guided elastically on a rotary mounted holder (6) so that when turned about an axis parallel to the longitudinal centre axis (1.1) of the chuck they are pressed by a tension drive (4,5,6) by their free ends radially inwards and outwards against the collar. The grippers can have one associated tension drive comprising an axially displaceable spindle.
