The storage system for nucleic acid samples has at least one polymer matrix (1), of a material which is porous and/or forms cavities and/or is hydrophilic. The pores/cavities have dimensions suitable to hold nucleic acids. The matrix is on a carrier (2), as a storage film, and the upper surface of the matrix is coated to become non-porous. The storage film is on a plate underlay (4), with an elastic seal (3).
