The roof module which fits between side parts of a passenger cell (3) underneath a roof skin (2) has a support frame (6) extending between longitudinal struts (5) and formed by the longitudinal stays and at least two cross braces which connect the stays together. The support frame and roof module can be detachably fixed in position on holders (17) of the passenger cell through locking elements (16) which are spring loaded and are associated with the support frame. The locking elements can be moved from a locking position to a standby position through a release mechanism (28).
