The body (10) has an attachable roof module (12) and a frame element (16) extending in a vehicle transverse direction (14). Lateral roof frame elements (20) are connected with each other on the frame element. The frame element is assigned to the attachable roof module. The roof module comprises a covering element, where the frame element is connected with the covering element by an angular connecting element. A lining bonded joint is provided between the covering element and the frame element. A lining bonded joint is made to contact with the covering element and the frame element. An independent claim is also included for a method for installing a body for a motor vehicle.
