The roof module which fits underneath the roof skin between the side parts (2, 3) of the passenger cell is formed by a support frame (16) extending between the longitudinal struts (7,8) and formed by longitudinal stays (11, 12) running in the direction of the struts and at least two connecting cross braces (13, 14,15). The longitudinal stays and cross braces are designed as shells (17) of U-shaped cross-section with internal reinforcements (18). The shells are preferably made of metal and the reinforcements of plastics ribs.
