An opto-electronic component (100) has a quantum point structure (20) in a semiconductor material and monolithically integrated components (1-4) that functionally interlink in the semiconductor material by means of the quantum point structure. This produces a very compact opto-electronic component. An Independent claim is also included for a method for producing an opto-electronic component.
