The device and method uses a cold storage plate with vertical tube profiles (2) closed at their bottom ends, filled with a freezable or cold absorbing medium (1), e.g. water and enclosed on the outside by flow medium (3) fed between feed and return connections (5,6), for supplying cold to the freezable or cold absorbing medium, or for removing cold from the latter.
