The synchronizing unit for gear systems comprises at least one friction contact surface (56, 58) located between the thrust elements (54) and the synchroring (34, 36) which consists of a low-friction material. As a result, relative motions are resisted using only small friction torques. An Independent claim is also included for a thrust element at least partially coated with a low-friction material.
