The component has a friction body comprising a carrier tape that is connected with a contacting area of the component by capacitor discharge welding. The carrier tape bears a carbonaceous friction lining. Thickness of the friction lining is in a range of 0.35 mm to 0.95 mm. Thickness of the carrier tape is in a range of 0.20 mm to 0.40 mm. The friction lining is applied on a surface area of a heat-activatable adhesive film and a double sided adhesive film as a fixing film. The friction lining is made of carbon fiber-amplified carbon and/or carbon fiber-amplified plastic. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a synchronization component.
