In a process to set the distance between a comb and feed rollers in a textile combing machine, the setting (51) is esp. read from a vernier decimal scale on the adjustment setting wheel (44). The setting wheel with vernier scale is attached to the front of the mechanism by an end-fixture (48) and bolts (30). it is connected by a spindle (20) and gear mechanism (30) to a setting shaft (29) which alters the relative gap between the comb and feed rollers within a machine frame.
