The bearing element (10) has a sprung rubber pad (13) fitted in a metal hoop (11) and provided with a connection element (12), the spring stiffness of the rubber pad determined by a piezoelectric actuator (15). The rubber pad is fitted in the metal hoop at an inclined angle, the piezoelectric actuator extending parallel to the rubber pad within the metal hoop and used for varying the opening angle of the latter.
