Measurement of mechanical strains on elastically deformable surfaces, e.g. membranes, using vibration sensitive elements that are set vibrating so that the resultant output signal can be measured and evaluated to determine strain
Method for measuring strains on elastically deformable surfaces, especially membranes, using vibration sensitive elements that are caused to vibrate so that they generate a tensile strain independent, analogue frequency signal. The surfaces to be measured are set vibrating using damped vibrations in the form of pure rotational vibration about an axis in the plane of the surface to be measured. The resultant strain causes a deflection proportional to a return moment that is measured and evaluated as a vibration. Vibration exciters in the form of seismic masses, piezo-actuators or imbalanced motors are used.
