The strain gauge has a strain-sensitive electrical signal producing element (5) i.e. piezoelectric film, fixed to a front side of an elastic element (4) provided in a sensor housing (1). The element (5) is defined to protrude with respect to support surfaces (6). An accurate defined pressure is exertable on the element (4) by mounting of a block using screws (2) via the housing. The element (5) is pressed on a to-be-measured surface (3), so that strain on the surface is transferred to the element (5) by friction, in a force-fit manner.
