On-board power system for supply of power to electric loads in motor vehicle maintains supply to individual load nodal points through back-up ring main

Through a control unit (1) a number of main power lines (3,5,7,9) are connected to a number of load nodal points (10-21). Each set of nodal points in a main power line are in series are switched on except the last which is switched off and connected to a ring main (31,32,33,34). The control unit monitors the loads at the individual nodal points by a communication line (40). To maintain the supply to nodal points isolated by disconnection of nodal point between them and the output terminals (2,4.6,8) of the control unit the end nodal points can be switched to the ring main.
