A cover (64) is placed on the meter housing or meter mechanism housing (36,38), perpendicular to the display surface. A transmitter module (68) and a signal pick-up (66) are arranged on the cover. The meter mechanism housing has at least two openings, the shape and size of which is matched to those of the signal pick-up and transmitter module. Signals picked up by the signal pick-up are transferred to the transmitter module.
