An oxidation and/or bleaching system has a component giving hydrolase-catalyzed formation of hydroxamic acids and a component comprising a laccase or oxidoreductase. An oxidation and/or bleaching system comprises (a) a first component comprising: (i) acyl donors such as fatty acids, fatty acid esters, fats and/or fatty esters or anilides; (ii) hydroxylamines and/or derivatives of formula (I) ((cyclo)aliphatic, heterocyclic or aromatic NO-, NOH- or RNHOH-compounds); and (iii) hydrolases of Class 3.1.1.3 lipases (triacylglycerol lipases, triglyceroacyl hydrolases), amidases of Class 3.5.1.4, acylases or proteinases effecting long-lasting and continuous formation not only of hydroxamic acids but also of other N-hydroxy-, oxime-N-oxy- or N,N/-dioxy-compounds formula (I); and (b) a suitable substrate (oxidation-precursor) comprising a laccase or other Class 1.1.1 - 1.97 oxidoreductase such that there is either a long-lasting post-formation of laccase (oxidoreductase)-oxidized products or their recycling.
