The gear changing device (4) has a gear selection mechanism with an electric motor and a worm gearing, for movement of a switching fork in a longitudinal direction relative to a shaft and a gear switching mechanism, with an electric motor and a planetary gearing, which pivots the switching fork for exerting a force on a switching cuff for engaging and disengaging a transmission cog. The worm gearing and the planetary gearing are coaxial to the shaft.
