The piston pump includes a displaceable piston (14), compression chamber (20) which widens out during the piston suction stroke and narrows down during the piston pressure stroke, and a pressure chamber (31) set downstream behind the outlet valve (24). The pressure chamber is defined by a pliable wall (32) which has an elastically resilient membrane (32b) mounted in an elastically yielding body (32a). Both the pressure chamber and the pliable wall are mounted in the region of the outlet valve (24).
