The lamp, with a wide angle lens, is fitted to drain pipe channel inspection trolley with a camera to illuminate the drain pipe at regular intervals. The assembly has at least two lamps (10,12) at the trolley, in the direction of travel. One lamp (10) has a narrow angle, to give a focused illuminating beam aligned forwards. A second lamp (12) has a wide angle beam to illuminate the sides of the drain pipe. A control (14) switches the first lamp on for a relatively long periods, and the second lamp for shorter time spans. The first and/or second lamp are LEDs.
