The system has a standard wire harness information pattern and a pattern generator (3) that generates modified wiring pattern information related to altered pattern. Part information storage stores the parts specification information and is referred by a simulator. A sub wiring pattern modifier modifies the two sub patterns as evaluated by a simulator. A jig arrangement pattern information generator generates jig information as prepared by sub jig pattern to each of multiple wire harness path patterns of the vehicle. A path decision pattern selects one wire harness path pattern. A path plan generator (16) generates a path plan by integrating the modified sub pattern having altered portions. An Independent claim is also included for a method for preparing and producing a wire harness.
