A method for controlling the drive (3) of a first partial system of a print machine (1) that is at least temporarily mechanically decoupled from a second partial system. According to the method a movement curve is determined for the first system that comprises a base movement curve and an additional movement curve. The curve is used as a reference curve for control of the first drive.
