Bipolar hemostatic pincers for an endoscope comprise an insertion part that is fed into a body cavity through an endoscope, first and second electrodes attached to the distal end of the insertion part and an isolator that is placed between the first and second electrodes, serving to isolate all but the distal end (140) of the electrodes. The electrodes can be pivoted between open and shut positions to clamp a blood vessel between them. High frequency electrical energy is used to coagulate the blood. The isolator limits the electrode pivot angle. An Independent claim is made for an electrode arrangement mounted at the distal end of an endoscope insertion part that has electrodes (110a, 110b) with an isolator part (130) arranged between them that also serves to limit the pivot angle of the electrodes.
