The device for the cleaning of rotating mechanical seals comprises an ultrasonic cleaning plant with a tank (2) to hold cleaning fluid, means (4) to expose the fluid to ultrasonic waves, means to direct the fluid into the circuit, means (8,9) for filtering and means for controlling the process. A housing for the mechanical seals is immersible in the tank and comprises a support frame with at least one rotatably driven mounting for a mechanical seal, as well as jet nozzles for jet-washing of the seal. The jet nozzles are adjustable and are connected into the fluid circuit by quick-release connections.
