The room ventilation unit (1) is installed below a window sill (9,10), a door or a window (5), and in modular form is connected to window sill installed on the inside (3) of a building. The window sill and housing (6) for the ventilation unit consist of a composite wood material, and may be a wood-filled thermoplastic and/or a duroplast bonded derived timber product. The housing in two sections, with the upper section (11) formed by the window sill, and the lower section (12) designed for accommodating the sound insulation components and other ventilation components.
