The method involves forming orifices (3) in adequate positions of a windowsill (1), where orifices are adapted to receive rigid and removable rods (5). The rods are positioned at each side of the windowsill in corresponding zone at a central line passing through center of gravity of the sill. The rods positioned in the windowsill are held by hand for handling the window sill. An independent claim is also included for a windowsill or door sill or patio door sill component.
