The wall construction element (10) has a steel profile as a supporting element which in the main has the form of a wide U-profile. The base section (12) of the profile lies in the plane of the wall surface of the construction element, and the two sides (14,16) define a hollow space inside the element and which is filled with an insulating material (18). An outer plate (20) of a non-metallic material is installed on the side of the base section facing away from the hollow space.
