Load-bearing construction element (2) comprises a metal structure (4) and a lateral heat-insulating layer. At least on one side of the construction element a molded body (6) made of a heat-insulating material at least partly fills a hollow chamber (8) laterally defined by the metal structure. The molded body is shaped so that it lies with at least two flat sides (10) on the surface of the metal structure. An independent claim is also included for a molded body for heat insulation of load-bearing elements with a metal structure. Preferred Features: The molded body is connected to the metal structure by a form- and/or force-locking connection.
