Double interface converter for memory cards converts to suitable interface i.e. PCMCIA/CF or USB interface using detector and control circuit with data buffer

The converter consists of an interface converter for PCMCIA/CF cards (20) and a USB interface module. In response to an interface detection and selection circuit, a controller of the interface converter (20) is able to perform a conversion to a suitable interface (PCMCIA/CF interface or USB interface). The controller may have a cache memory in which data are buffered when data are exchanged between the memory card and the USB interface.
