The stacking column has a U-form casing (2) to accommodate a number of latch levers (3) which are mounted on bearings in the two side cheeks of the casing in such a way that the center of gravity is on the frame side whereby in the neutral position (10) the levers are held in the hinged upwards position. A driving angle piece is rigidly fitted on each lever on the frame side and dimensioned so that with downwards pivoting the next lever is brought into the ready position. Stops (9) are provided on the rear side of the casing to define the working position of the latch levers.
