The leg orthosis for supporting the knee joint has an ankle and foot section (4) and a lower leg section (8) connected to this. The lower leg section is connected to an upper leg frame by a locking mechanism. The lock has a release and adjusting control pad (6) operating a fluid actuator (18) for the lock.
