The road vehicle has a body (1) which includes two or more swinging doors (2), hinged (3) at their front edges. The sharp rear edges of the door panels (4) are protected by resilient buffers (5). The buffers pivot on axes (6) just inside the edges of the doors and may be connected to the hinges by linkages so that they move from a retracted to a deployed position as the doors are swung open. The buffers may be deployed and retracted by hydraulic actuations or electric motors.
