The animal feeder has a container (1) with a dispensing area (15) and a transporting track (25) which runs between the dispensing area and transportation cells (13) in the form of recesses with an open upper side. The recesses have strips (20) running alongside which area in communication with the feeding dispenser. A band (5) runs on the outer side of the recesses and a surrounding wheel is driven by a drive unit (8).
