The preformed block construction comprises a baseplate (10) with a number of threaded holes (11), a number of first preformed blocks (20) each with through-holes (21) aligning with the threaded holes in the baseplate, a number of second preformed blocks (30) overlapping the first blocks and with through-holes (31) aligning with the holes in the first blocks, and a number of third preformed blocks (40) overlapping the second preformed blocks and with through-holes (41) aligning with holes in the second preformed blocks. Bolts (50) fit through the aligning holes and each engage in a threaded hole in the baseplate.
