The key deposit stores keys to a premises which can be accessed by the fire brigade in case of fire. The deposit is in the form of a box attached to or built into a wall of the building and containing a safe (4) with an outer and an inner door. Behind the inner door is a locked cylinder, which is monitored, containing the keys or other means of entering the building. Devices (10) are provided on at least two sides of the safe to protect against boring through the safe and to trigger an alarm when an unauthorized person attempts to bore through the deposit box.
