The pivotable trough (6) for a sty in which a sow gives birth to her piglets is positionable in an inclined position and is made of steel or stainless steel. A trough frame (1) of the same materials for inclined positioning, and a technical device for its fixture are provided. Accommodations (3) are incorporated for fitting side grids on the frame. The trough (6) is rotatably located on the frame. A pivot lever (9) can be pulled or pressed in order to pivot the trough. When this lever is in the secured state, the trough cannot be pivoted.
