Notebook or laptop computer has a heating element or film that can be used to heat its cold-sensitive components, especially the monitor and or microchips, or even the whole notebook device. Heating is triggered when an onboard temperature sensor detects that the temperature has fallen below a threshold value and sensitive components are at risk of damage due to freezing or frost. A Peltier element is suitable as a temperature sensor.
