The insulation element comprises a strip (30) of thermal insulation material containing a length direction slot located essentially in the middle of the outwards-facing side. The slot extends from the outwards-facing side towards the inside of the faade in the strip depth direction. The slot has a width of 0-4 (0-1) mm (sic) and a depth of 5-20 (5-15) mm. An independent claim is also included for a frame construction comprising filling pieces (18) held in place by press bars (22) via outer seals (20), a glass joint between the opposing faces of two filling pieces and the above thermal insulation element in contact with the filling pieces.
