An external point light for a vehicle comprises a bell-shaped dome (30) containing a light (32) to show up the contours of a large vehicle in the dark. There is a lead cable (18) with tapering protector sheath (22), a lamp holder (28) of larger diameter than the through hole (14) and an inner clamping section (20).
