The apparatus includes a computer unit (1) for data acquisition, processing and control of the apparatus. A scanner (2) scans the body part (7) and determines the topographic surface data, and supplies them to the computer unit. A keyboard is provided for inputting planning parameters and control commands. A display (4) is provided for visualizing the body part. A graphic simulation program generates a preoperative visualization on the display screen.
