PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a setting method of experimental planning for engine control parameters, which enables the engine control parameters to be adapted in a short period of time.;SOLUTION: The setting method of experimental planning for the engine control parameters comprises a step (S1) of setting a first prescribed number of experimental points that are required in order to obtain a response curved surface, with each being expressed by a combination of a plurality of engine control parameters; a step (S2) of inputting the experiment result data measured at the first prescribed number of experimental points being set; a step (S3) of extracting effective experimental points, from which effective data for the response curved surface are obtained, and missing values from which effective data are not obtained, while referring to the experiment result data; and steps (S5, S6) of setting a second prescribed number of additional experimental points which are used, in combination with the effective experimental points after eliminating the missing values in the experimental points, in the case the number of the missing values exceeds a prescribed threshold level, thereby enabling the response curved surface to be obtained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
