A fluidized bed unit, particularly for continuous flow processing, has a rotational-symmetric working chamber (10) with an internal, central hub (4), defining an annular working space. Preferably the hub (4) is conical or cylindrical (claimed). The working space may be divided into sequential process stages by radial partitions (15) connected by flap-closed weirs (16), so that with separate air supplies to the sieve floors, different conditions can be controlled in each stage (claimed).
