The positioning device has a lower frame part (1) with a baseplate (10) supporting a mass of gypsum (9). The positioning mechanism moves the model of the lower jaw (8) down onto the gypsum. The frame supports a column (2) with a hinge (3) for a beam (6) with a bend (13) near its center. The end of the beam may be pushed down by a nut (23) on a threaded spindle (22). There is a screw arrangement (17-19) for horizontal adjustment.
