PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve detection speed and reliability in sound wave detection and reduce the burden of telemetry communication. ;SOLUTION: A downhaul processor 8 is provided in a downhaul tool 1 for sound wave detection. The downhaul processor has an ADC converter 12c for digitalizing a sound wave detection signal, and a digital wave form in which DSP 13a digitalizes in accordance with a sound wave detection program stored in a program memory 13d is stored to a data memory 13e, sound wave detection processing is performed on the stored digital wave form, and an arrival time and amplitude are determined. Such determined result is transmitted to a surface processor 3 through a detection cable 2 by telemetry communication.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
