METHOD AND PREPARATION OF THE BIFIDOGENIC SOLUBLE DIETARY FIBER TYPE FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SAID METHOD

Soluble nutritional fiber product (A) is a highly branched polysaccharide of molecular weight over 0.3 MD and viscosity (30% aqueous solution at 20 deg C) 100-1000 mPa.sec, and comprises particle sizes of: (i) 10 - 300 micron in spray-dried powder; and (ii) 60 - 500 micron in agglomerated powder. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) food product containing 0.5 - 100 wt.% (A); and (b) method for stimulating growth of anaerobic, acidophilic bacteria in the colon (of humans or animals) by adding (A) to food.
