The valve pushrod comprises a cup (5) sliding in a fixed cylinder (2) in which there is a fluid conveying circuit (31,32). The cup has a cylindrical sleeve (7) and a cam support plate (9). The sleeve is provided with a fluid passage orifice (21). The cup interior volume (11) is separated into a pushrod supply compartment (20) and a plate lubricating chamber (19). The chamber has an inlet orifice (23) in the sleeve and an outlet orifice (29) in the plate. The inlet orifice is connected to the circuit so that the outer face (9A) of the support plate is lubricated during operation of the pushrod.
