The fragmentation shell, comprising an explosive charge surrounded by inner (1) and outer (2) casings with notches (4). The inner casing has a series of grooves (6) with their median planes forming an acute angle with the separating (7) surface between the casings. The sides of the grooves can be parallel or tapering, and the spacers (8) between the grooves and the interior of the shell are of variable thickness and can be made from a different material to the remainder of the inner casing. The spacers can be e.g. of metal and the rest of the casing of plastic or a material that enhances the incendiary effect.
