The method of identification of the sky in images commences by filtering the image and dividing the filtered image into a number of segments. A mosaic image is then formed for which a color is associated with each mosaic part. Parts having at least one point on the edges of the image are selected and if they have a color in the range of blue colors are identified as sky.
