Cartographic presentation unit has terrestrial globe and a plane Mercator projection with same scale at equator, turned at the same speed

The presentation unit consists of a terrestrial globe (10) and a plane Mercator projection (20) of the Earth with the same scale at the equator. The plane projection is mounted on a pair of cylinders (30) and connected to a drive mechanism (50) that rotates them. The drive has a rotary rod (40) that extends upwards through the poles of the globe and rotates it at the same speed as the cylinders. The different countries on the globe and Mercator projection are presented in the same colours, being of constant density on the globe and in a shade that varies on the plane projection in proportion with latitude.
